The Helmsdale River is now on 10 fish off, last week providing 9. Beats 5 + 6 are giving most fish as they seem to be moving through the lower river at pace. Pick of the bunch was a fine 16 pounder by Don Mackay from Caithness of beat 3 - and Paul Young got in on the act also on beat 6 with a bonny 8 pounder from the Church streams - Paul was trying out my latest new secret pattern, as you can see, it worked first time out!
