Salmon caught last week:

We have a dirty rising river tonight so things are looking up for the week ahead. Last week saw the arrival of some grilse but as usual for the time of year they were thin on the ground. Two were caught on the Association water - one of which was only 1.75lbs, Ker Hamilton and Gordon Innes were the captors. The beats had mixed fortunes and had to work very hard for any sport, this will not go down as a week to remember. I think the run will build from this week and probably peak at the end of the month again so get your flies and tackle ordered asap. Start on www.helmsdalecompany.com for the latest killers and call me regarding tackle. My offer of the month is a super grilse outfit - 13ft shakespeare salmon rod/reel/Scientific Anglers line ready to go for £99. Simms kit is still on promotion so call me for the best UK prices direct to your door on 01431821372.
