Well, the forecast looks like no frost after Monday 10th Jan so I think the opening of the Helmsdale will definately be ON this year!!
We have a little snow here right now but nothing compared to what's been!

Scott Mackenzie will on the Kilphedir pool beat 2 all day offering free casting lessons and DTX rod demo's - I'll be around helping him on the day and dishing out the drams!! well worth a look in! Kilphedir pool is around 2.5 miles up the glen by the roadside on the left so can't miss it, the event will be sign-posted.

All items will be reduced in the shop for our January sale! and we have a vary large selection of spring flies on show.

The first fish caught ( if returned! ) will net a DTX rod, flies and the Bridge Hotel trophy so take a camera.

We had a good season in 2005 and the following spring we had 6 sea-liced springers in January - 2 on the opening free days.
We are hoping this year will be the same if not better as the Highlands were full of fish last season and the Helmsdale had a great year.

The opening ceremony will be from 9.30 Jan 13th in front of the Bridge Hotel but make sure you register at the tackle shop for the free fishing on any of the 3 days.

This is a great chance to fish cracking spring water that's almost impossible to access normally..so get the rods out if you can! IT'S FREE!!!

Please call the shop for all the latest advice and river updates and don't forget to order your spring salmon flies!

Tight lines for 2011

Game on!!!
