Salmon caught last week:
Ker Hamilton added a fine 14 pounder to the local tally last Monday, he was fishing with a small conehead Pot Bellied Pig and it was only No 4 for the season off this usually productive water. The next morning he lost a very large sea-trout almost on the bank. The sea-trout have arrived very early this year and at least they may give some nice sport over the next month if the river stays low. Alexander Cowie caught the first two this week both over the pound and Ron had a nice 2.25 pounder on Friday in the well pool. The upper river struggled this week but around 30 were reported - beat 1 and 6 providing best sport. The loch is holding a good head of fish now and should provide action if a favourable wind blows.
